It doesn’t have to be the Spring season to enjoy fun flower activities with your preschooler! Flower-themed crafts are great for strengthening motor skills, especially in early childhood education. These educational activities also make learning more engaging and fun for students. Whether you have a specific flower-themed week planned or are learning about the different kinds of flowers, check out our collection of the sweetest flower activities below!  

This flower math activity is perfect for preschool children. Students will have fun counting and learning math while decorating their favorite flowers. Flower petal counting would also make a fantastic addition to classroom centers.

Out of all the excellent books about flowers, this one is definitely a favorite of mine! This is a book about sunflowers, Spring flowers, and seeds. It also includes a height chart that can be used for a variety of math activities. 

This DIY paper flower crown is a fun, hands-on art project for children. They will have the opportunity to be creative with markers, colored pencils, paints, and other art supplies. They can even add stickers and gems to make their flower crown stand out.

Young children can learn so much from playing pretend flower shop. You can teach them about the flower life cycle, how to purchase items with money, and how to keep their pretend store well-stocked. They will also be able to use their imagination and role-play. 

Flower hide and seek is a fun game to play with preschoolers. They will have fun finding new hiding spots for their flowers and discovering other hidden flowers with friends. 

Planting flowers with children is a great introduction to gardening. Children can plant flowers using seeds and cups. What’s better is that they’ll learn responsibility by watering them and making sure they get plenty of sunlight.

Sensory bins are engaging, hands-on activities. Students will use their sense of touch to learn about a host of textures. You can also incorporate real flowers for children to smell and feel; explaining the difference between the textures of real and artificial flowers as you go.

This is one of my favorite flower crafts to make with little ones. You will need to write a letter on each stick and have children practice putting letters together to form their names, words, or patterns.

Preschool children love to color! You cannot go wrong with this flower printable coloring page. There are many different flower pictures to choose from for your little ones. You can put them together to create a Spring-themed bulletin board. 

This game is one of the most fun math activities for preschoolers. The object of the game is to be the first person to “plant” all of your flowers in the pot. You will need real or artificial flowers, a dye, and playdough for this activity. 

There are so many crafts you can make with paper plates! I love this homemade suncatcher craft using real flowers. Children can pick their own flowers to strengthen their fine motor skills. Don’t forget to remind the children to smell the flowers too!

This is a great center-time activity for students to work on in pairs or independently.
